Understanding AppliesTo Scripting

AppliesTo scripting is the proprietary LogicMonitor scripting language that queries the resources that you have added into monitoring and returns those resources for which the expression evaluates to TRUE. AppliesTo scripting is used throughout LogicMonitor to associate devices with DataSources, add devices to dynamic groups, and more.  These properties may be assigned automatically via basic system information discovery or PropertySource execution, inherited from the parent resource or resource group, or they may be assigned manually

Each LogicModules has an AppliesTo field, which controls which devices the LogicModules is associated with. AppliesTo Scripting is the language used to express whether a LogicModules applies to a device, given a device's properties as input. AppliesTo Scripting can also be used to build dynamic group queries, and to apply device dashboard templates to different devices.
